Which class should I take my first semester? Pre-calculus or applied calculus? I need to complete one of them to advance onto Calculus 1.

Which one would prepare me best for Calc 1? I am also considering transferring by at the end of my freshman year so what would look best for colleges specifically for business/finance majors?

Just to add, pre-calc is a 3 credit course and applied calc is 4 units

From my experience, the choice was always Calc 1 versus Applied Calc 1. If you don’t know pre-calc, either class IMO would be harder. What school are you talking about?

aiming to transfer to boston college

No. Where are you planning to take the classes?

at a top 50 college

Generally precalc is required before calc? (hence the name) It will give you the background you need. Though I am surprised to see applied calc as one of the possible prerequisites

I asked so I could see the course description.
