Pre-law at UIUC?

Does UIUC have a pre-law track of any kind? When i visited WUSTL, my tour guide was enrolled in an undergraduate pre-law program. I wasn't sure if UIUC had a similar program. I know there's no undergraduate "college" for pre-law (for example, the college of business, college of arts and sciences, etc.), so how would one enroll in the program, if such a program exists? Is it hyper-competitive? Thanks in advance!

Pre-law is not a major (anywhere). You can major in virtually anything and apply to law school. Pre-law is an advisory program, meaning those who have an interest in going on to law school can be appointed advisors who will guide them in what they need to do. UIUC does have such an advisory program and any admitted freshman (or upper-classmen) can apply to be part of it (I believe you are asked if you are interested in it on application to UIUC) and you will be part of it if you desire. Go here to start to learn info on it: [Thinking About Law School - Pre-Law Advising Services - University of Illinois](http://www.prelaw.illinois.edu/thinking/index.html)

UIUC also has a program that allows juniors at UIUC to apply and get a decision on admission to UIUC’s law school as early as March of junior year for admission after senior year without having to submit an LSAT. Likely, UIUC Law will admit no more than 10 students via that program and although it does not set any GPA limit you should expect that success will be limited to those with very high GPAs.
