Pre Law What Should I Major In!!!

Recently, I was just accepted in to one of my top schools UConn, as a poli sci major. My only problem is I’m so indecisive. I really want to be a lawyer and I know I’m capable of doing it, but what should I major in. I’m tired of hearing “major in something your good at.” I want someone to be real with me. For the past two years I have had this goal of being a human rights/civil rights lawyer (maybe even immigration?). UConn is one of the very few schools in the U.S that offers as human rights bachelor degree (requires a double major) and minor. Should I minor or double major in human rights? Recently I’ve been considering economics, political science (my current major), marketing, and finance. My problem is I’m just okay at math (I can add, subtract, divide, multiply, and do the basic algebra loll). However, I excel greatly in english, jounalism, and history (even though I find it really boring). I was thinking maybe double in major in econ and human rights and minor in public policy. Or major in poli sci and minor in public policy. IDK!!! I came up with over like twenty combinations (literally) !!!. So overall, I’m just asking someone to be real with!!! And tell me what I should major, the pros and cons of those majors, and if being a human rights lawyer is a realistic goal. Also, I’m not just interested in human rights/international law. I’m also interested in family law, corporate (just a little bit), and employment law (I just want to be a lawyer). Sorry if this is really long!!!

Major in whatever you would choose if you weren’t going to law school. And get good grades. Law schools don’t care what your major is, you might change your mind (really), and there’s always a chance you won’t get into the level of law school that makes financial sense and/or law school may turn out to be unaffordable for any number of reasons.

Hi! As stated above, law schools really don’t care about your major. They care about your grades and LSAT score. I plan to go to law school and my major is economics. I chose economics because I fell in love with it during a high school econ class, also I am good at math. You can find statistics on which major scored the highest on the LSAT online. Although, I really do suggest to major in something that you are interested in and can do well in. Being a humans rights lawyer is realistic, especially because you seem to be very passionate about that. If you aren’t that good at math, then I’d rule out finance and economics. Don’t double major and minor for the purpose of law school. Political science seems to be a good major for you. If law school does not work out, you want to be left with a degree in which you can do something with. Sorry, this probably is not what you wanted to hear, but this is my take on law school and majors.

The problem is I’m not really sure what to major in! I was thinking about business admin? Or maybe marketing. Tbh idek what is useful and useless. Like previously stated I am little concern about majoring in something that would be risky Incase law school doesn’t work out! Any suggestions besides poli sci

What about public policy
