pre med and lincoln center

how hard is it to be a pre med student and be living at the Lincoln center campus? I know it would be more convenient to be living at the rose hill campus, but just wondering how much of an inconvenience it would be.

Most science majors are at RH although it is possible to be pre-med at LC I believe. Not all science majors are offered at LC. The old website used to have a list of which majors are available on which campus but I don’t see it there now. Again, hopefully this is just a bump in the road as the school seems to be transitioning to a new website. You can try to call Fordham (maybe start with admissions and see where they direct you) and ask for information about which major is offered on which campus and details about the core curriculum. Check the website again right before you call – and mention that the website isn’t showing that information at this time so they know you checked there first.

Thanks for your help!

“Pre-Med” isn’t a major, it’s a program. You can major in something else and be in the “Pre Health Program”. You are required to take Bio I and II with labs; Chem I and II with Labs; Organic Chemistry I and II with labs; Physics I and II with labs; One semester of Calculus. Also most medical schools also require Introduction to Sociology. I’m not at all familiar with LC sciences, as my daughter is at RH doing Pre Health. They updated the school website and a lot of things aren’t working, including the Pre Health requirements.

I am going to be brutally honest about this program----it is tough. Usually after the first Chem exam most drop out. You are required to have a C- in order to advance to the second part of Bio and Chem.

Thank you!

@MomTheChauffer Sorry, I’m in premed right now at Fordham and had to make this correction: you need a C. But you need a C- if you are not in premed and it is just your major.

My friend is pre-med as a Psych major at LC and he has no issues with being at LC instead of RH.

I do stand corrected. My daughter told me the same thing.

I suggest you contact LC and ask about the pre-health program. I’m under the impression that it isn’t available at LC. Please call and make sure. You would have to RamVan to RH to take the science classes I believe.
