Hello all,

I am a rising senior applying to colleges within the upcoming months, and I would like some feedback based on my desire to apply to Penn.

I am planning on doing Pre-med, which of course comes with the importance of maintaining a high GPA. My desired major is physics, perhaps astrophysics. Also, because pre-med requirements go well toward biological science majors, I could do a double major, but I probably will not due to the potential workload.

I know that Penn has a fair bit of grade deflation, making it difficult to maintain the med-school worthy high GPAs.

I am wondering now if the physics or astrophysics majors at Penn are very difficult to get a stellar GPA in. Also, is it advisable to do an astrophysics major and then do Pre-med? I've heard physics majors in pre-med but rarely astro.

I am also wondering the same thing about a few other schools, notably Cornell, Columbia, MIT, and other top schools because I am planning to apply to them as well.

Thanks in advance.
