Pre-Med at JHU and other "Tough" Schools?

Could someone give me some insight on being a pre-med student at Hopkins? Does the difficult grading considerably lower ones chances of getting into a top med school or med school at all? Would one be better off going to a lower tier school or a grade inflation school and getting a 4.0 than struggling at JHU? How hard is it really(might be difficult to quantify)? These are just some questions I have been wondering about...I plan to apply to JHU early decisions in the fall and does anyone know anything about the neuroscience major and its difficulty?

JHU grading is not any harder than say UChicago, Penn or Cornell. You have really bright kids there and so the courses that grade on a curve show that distribution. Overall, though, I’m sure most students have somewhere between a 3.1 and a 3.6.

That said, med school admission definitely take into account your undergraduate college and according to their website, there is a very high success rate of getting into great Med Schools from Hopkins undergrad.

JHU is known as being rigorous but what that means is that the students have been held to a high standard and that usually means higher standardized scores across the board and positive outcomes at the end.

GL!

All major colleges get a good percentage of their pre-med students into med-school, as does JHU - 22,000 students get into med-school every year. BUT, Hopkins graduates have a better chance of getting into a BETTER med-school than students from say, Generic State U. or Midwest Tech…
