I am a rising senior have pretty much fallen in love with Williams for a hundred different reasons. However, I plan on going to Med school and I was wondering if there was any disadvantage to going pre-med at a LAC compared to a larger university known for its sciences like JHU. Also, what kind of support does Williams provide for student looking to go to med school? Anyone know the med school acceptance rate? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Laur, Williams has an excellent track record in getting its graduates into top medical schools. There is certainly no disadvantage to going pre-med at an LAC and there may be many advantages. This is a purely subjective decision.

Medical school acceptance is precipitated primarily on grades and recommendations. Where you are likely to get the best grades and recommendations depends on the type of teaching style and environment that you are the most comfortable with. So the answer to whether Williams
(or another LAC) or JHU (or another large research university) is the better route to medical school really depends on which one is the better overall fit for YOU. They are both valid and excellent choices, but very different educational and social experiences.

Here are a few websites that layout how Williams helps students achieve their med-school goals. The focus on personalized attention and the intensity of academic support are significant.
