PRE-MED @ JHU/Yale/Harvard/MIT/Stanford

really? so a chemistry major has to take harder versions of the same physics classes?

like physics 101 would be harder for chem than bio majors?

Usually yes. Bio majors often don’t have to take the calculus version of physics making the course significantly easier.

When such an option is offered. The large publics have different tracks of science and math courses, but not all colleges do.

can a chemistry major take the easier classes?

i really like both chemistry and biology. im only picking chemistry because it might be easier for me in terms of GPA and the fact that more chemistry is on the mcat than biology

If you don’t take a calculus based physics class, you’ll have even more fun than most in physical chemistry…

All of the schools listed in the thread subject except MIT have a physics sequence for biology majors that is different from the one for physics majors. However, for at least some of these schools, the biology majors’ physics sequence uses “less calculus”, rather than “no calculus”.

im better at chemistry, math, and physics than i am at biology

i may only be saying that because i loved biology until i had the worst teacher to walk the planet tho (i am not kidding one bit)

i really like bio but im unsure that i can get a high gpa given the fact that i can memorize tons and tons of facts

i can understand the bio or chem easily but the memorization killed me in bio. i was fine in chem (i finished with a 100% average at the end of the year)

If memorization is hard for you I don’t see how you would get into or survive medical school, no offense. Maybe you need to develop better studying techniques? All of these schools have excellent support for freshmen, so take advantage and get help on how to improve any weakness you have.
Study what you love!. Don’t let one bad teacher turn you off to the subject that interests you the most; you have a long life ahead of you so don’t let a little speed bump change your direction.
And trying to guess which science major will be the “easiest” at a top-notch university full of other pre-meds is not productive. Consider what career path appeals to you if you don’t go to medical school for some reason.
