Job and career prospects are not (or should not be) the only factors in your choice of major, but you should at least be aware of how they look for various majors, so that you are not surprised at graduation like so many students. For example, if you know that your major’s job and career prospects are not so great, you can look for jobs and internships more aggressively and earlier than most students do in order to improve your personal job and career prospects. You could also select out of major courses or a minor that might help you in some marketable way. </p>
