How does the time to become a doctor compare to when you go through a Pre-med school, and you don't?

Also are there any other colleges other than Stony Brook, and NYU ?

There are about 4000 undergraduate institutions in the US so yes, much more than just Stony Brook and NYU. I wouldn;t go anywhere ranked outside the top 100 (preferably top 50) if you’re going to be pre-med though. You have to earn an undergraduate degree which is almost certainly 4 years. If you don’t take the required classes for med school (that’s all being pre-med really means) then it will take longer because you will have to do a post-bacc program.

You will have an MD after 4 years of college and 4 years of med school although when most people say “become a doctor” they usually refer to being an attending physician which will, depending on your specialty, be 3-7+ years after medical school.

I highly recommend you read through some of the threads at the top of the pre-med forum page. It appears you have a lot to learn.
