What schools have strong pre-med programs? Specifically, what top schools (JHU, Penn, Duke, to just name a few) have premed programs that are advanced and yet not too grueling so as to automatically kill your gpa? I am just asking this so I can consider what top schools to apply to by the off-chance that I get into one. Like I know JHU's premed is considered very difficult because of their lack of grade inflation coupled with hard courses. So far, I am looking into UPenn and Duke however I would like to know more colleges to consider.

PS I do have backup schools. This is just for me to get an idea for some colleges I should consider applying to

Wustl has a pretty strong program

There is no such thing as a pre med program. Go to your state school, Duke, Harvard or UC Irvine…all schools are “pre med.” You take the same set of classes no matter what UG you are at.

and you can major in anything as long as you take the classes GA2012MOM suggested. Don’t waste a lot of money on prestige if you want to go to med school. The med schools will hardly notice your alma mater.

Yeah, I’m aware of that fact that med schools look for a strong GPA, MCAT etc and not necessarily at the school one attends. I just think I should still consider different types schools I should apply to. Just because I plan completing premed courses doesn’t mean that I should discount any prestigious college that gives me an opportunity and enough financial aid to attend. This post was meant more for me to get an idea for what schools I should consider on the upper end of colleges.
