<p>Whatever you do outside academics, you should pursue your own interests/passions, do not do it just for application. Yes, I believe in engaging in “normal hobbies”. Med. Schools are looking for human beings, not GPA/MCAT scores producing machines, people who can relate to others of various backgrounds, who allow thmeselves time to breathe and enjoy life. However, without decent GPA/MCAT score, the doors will be locked. So, work hard, enjoy, participate in your college life…as most pre-meds (your future competition) do.</p>
