Pre-Med?

Does MIT have a good Pre-Med/Biology/Health Science program?

MIT has one of the best molecular and cellular biology programs in the world, without question.

MIT is a bit of a tough place to be a premed, although MIT premeds are very successful in their applications to medical school. Last year, 94% of MIT undergrads who applied to medical school were accepted ([premed data](http://web.mit.edu/career/www/infostats/preprof.html)). But that high percentage masks the fact that it’s not easy to get to that point and keep up the great grades necessary to get into medical school, because MIT is challenging and there isn’t an easy track or major that will guarantee straight A’s.

So MIT can be a great place to go if you’re interested in becoming a physician. But it’s not going to be easy, although there will be a lot of support to get there.
