Pre-Orientation Finger Lakes(4 days)

Okay about a month ago I registered for the program OutDoor Odyssey and signed up for the 4 day finger lake trip. I completely forgot to send in the forms, but what I am worrying about is the gear rental! This is going to be my first real outdoor type trip (I live in LA where nature is just a word, so I am totally clueless about being in the wilderness). Aside from proper clothing is there anything essential that I need from the list. Keep in mind I am on a low budget and only want what I need, not what will "make" the trip easier, enjoyable, comfortable, etc...
Foam Sleeping Pad (?)
Internal Frame Pack
External Frame Pack
Wind Pants (?)
Crazy Creek Chair (?)

*(?) means that I have no clue what the heck this is

foam sleeping pads are somewhat alternatives for inflatable pads. Generally, you put them underneath your sleeping bags to “protect” you from uncomfortable twigs/roots/grass/weeds/etc. They also help protect your sleeping bag (and you) from moisture if the ground is wet. whether or not this is a necessity depends on you and where you’re going and I am out of advice here

crazy creek chairs are like portable stumps. They fold easily for storage and can be easily set up so you have a padded seat and something to lean on. Probably not necessary.

wind pants are pants that resist wind… Not sure if you’ve ever worn a pair of pants that do that but um… For example, jeans/sweats are NOT wind pants because you can feel the breeze through your jeans/sweats. wind pants are usually quick-dry and lightweight which are definite pluses for camping. I personally don’t think wind-resistant is necessary but quick-drys are very nice depending on where you’re going.

The frame packs just allow you to carry everything on your back. Pretty handy since life gets difficult if you trail for miles to camp while carrying a dufflebag and a carry-on. etc. Although… depending on your trip, not wholly necessary.

Sunscreen is a definite must since the sun gets pretty angry around here… especially if you’re gonna be doing lake activities.
