Sorry for the poorly worded title. So currently I'm intending to get a dual-degree in business and pharmacy. I'm an Econ major that's taking the pharmacy preqreqs. Since I'm not actually a science major, my advisers have been business advisers and I had to keep up with the pharmacy side. My aim is UGA's pharmacy school.

Long story short, I'd like to get other opinions on my progress so far. Will I make it?:

I'm registered as a pharm tech, but I'm still looking for a job. I will take my PCAT soon as well.

Why are you saying that you’re exempt from stats? (At least when my kid was applying, AP stats was not accepted by any pharmacy school that he considered.)

Whether or not you get accepted to pharm school is going to depend on the requirements of UGA or any other school(s) where you’re applying. Each school will have its own profile and requirements. When my kid was admitted, for example, the admitted students’ profile at his school was a GPA >3.5 in prepharm requirements. If I remember right, the average PCAT score was somewhere around the high 70s, low 80s. They mentioned at his white coat ceremony that there were more than 10 applicants for every spot. However, other schools were less competitive.

You can try to get info on the accepted students’ profiles for UGA and any other schools where you are applying on sites like the pre-pharm student doctor site, where applicants talk about their cycle. You might also get some school-specific info by posting on the schools’ forums on CC, if the pharmacy schools haven’t posted this information on their own websites.

I also suggest that you get in touch with the Pharm Schools’ admissions office, and talk to someone. My kid found that most of the Pharmacy Schools had really great admissions officers, who were very helpful about advising on prereqs and which courses might be weighted a little heavier during the admissions committee reviews.

Look on the PharmCAS website for school-specific stats to see what the competition is like.
