I'm an upcoming senior in high school, and want to go into pharmacy. I am applying to University of Texas, U of Maryland, and U of Connecticut. I know there isn't a "pre pharmacy" major for any of these schools. What would be the best major to declare?

There are at least a dozen threads on this somewhere in this forum. The short answer is that you can major in anything as long as you also complete the pre-requisites for pharmacy school. Bonus points if it’s something that you can see yourself doing in case you decide not to go into pharmacy or don’t make it into a pharmD program.

Edit: The other threads regarding this topic may be in the “pre-med” or “other careers in medicine” forums since this pre-pharmacy forum is relatively new.

My daughter majored in Spanish and begins her Pharm.D. program next month.

You can likely major in anything as long as you complete the pre-pharm requirements for the eventual program you plan to apply to (calc, physics, chem, ochem, microbio, etc etc).
