pre-professional/work orientated students at northeastern? are there intellectuals?

Hi. I am looking into Northeastern because of its NMF scholarship which I am likely to get. Northeastern seems like it is a great school. However, there is one thing I'm afraid about- are all the students at Northeastern very focused on the "real world" and working? Are there many business majors who's sole purpose is to get a job and make money? That's the impression I get from Northeastern, especially because of it's co-op program. (I do like the co-op program, and if I do attend NEU I will do my co-ops in academic science research labs.) But I want to make sure that there are students like me, who love learning for the sake of learning. Other schools I will be applying to include Brown, Tufts, etc., but I need something to fall back on if the financial aspect doesn't work out.

So to be concise: are there intellectuals at Northeastern?

I love learning for the sake of learnig, and I do not think that I’m the only one here! I chose NU over Tufts and have not regretted my decision once. I always have classmates who are way more intellectual than me in my classes. However, I am in Arts & Sciences, so I don’t have any experience with Business.

That’s good to hear. I’m going to be in Arts & Sciences as well (bio major).
