Pre-Screen Dilemma - Looking for opinions

We filmed her Pre-screens to submit to Elon (we did them at home) and after we shared them with her theatre teacher and vocal coach. Their biggest issue was with the lighting (too bright) and a few tweaks they wanted done but vocally they were pleased.

So we redid her pre-screens and everyone is in agreement that they are great and we are ready to start submitting. Then we received the results from Elon and she was invited to audition.

So, do I submit the first group of pre-screens or the new and improved ones? Thoughts?

If everyone is in agreement that the new prescreens are better it would seem logical to use those for schools you have not submitted to. I think this shows that the content is the most important. Good lighting, correct framing and good sound are important but most important is the actual performance. As long as you can clearly see their face and they FOLLOW DIRECTIONS the tiny details are not usually a deal breaker.

Production value isn’t nearly as important as talent. There may be something that comes through in the original version that is edited out in the ‘more polished’ versions. I think you should know there are probably over 1,000 D’s out there who would love to have your dilemma. The main thing is to just get them submitted!!

Thank you for the responses. We have decided to use the new and improved.
