the curve is already established based on the percieved difficulty of the test. it has nothing to do with how badly everyone does.

That lit curve sounds gross.

And I would say 75/80 for Bio E, 74/80 for Bio M (M was definitely harder than E)

Olleger, that’s not true. You are talking about the curve for SAT 1. They already curved it using previous “experimental sections.” There are NO experimental sections on subject tests, thus the grading is done by percentile. There was a publication on how they do the grading. Here is the conversion from the top of my head.
Chem 800 = 95 percentile
USH 800= 99 percentile
Literature 800= 98 percentile
Physics 800 = 92 percentile (<------- Take this one!!! lol)
Math 800= 98 percentile

^ I thought math 2 800 was 90percentile.

I just checked
Math—> 88 percentile is 800. Missed the tenth place lol.
Biology M—> 97 percentile = 800
E ----> 99 percentile = 800
You guys wont believe this:
Chinese Listen-----> 61 percentile----> 800.

<a href=“College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools”>College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools;

the 61 percentile on Chinese is probably due to the number of native speakers taking the test. It’s as if I would take the Spanish one. (to a native speaker, the test is ridiculously easy, got an 800 on both practice tests i took, too bad no one (college)will take it seriously if i take it)
