What did you guys all think you got on the essay? I got the decisions and limits prompt... and think my ex. were not very on topic but I filled the two pages, used 2 scientists, wrote simply w/ one or two okay vocab words like unorthodox. What do you guys think I'll get (from ur past experiences with the essay)?

Well...I made a few careless mistakes on the math section, I hope I'm not exaggerating when I look back on it.

Worst Case Scenario:

I felt I missed like 4 or 5 on the math section, and omitted like 4 - 6.

Also, on the VERBAL, which I believe I did very well on, I missed 3 or 4, and omitted 2 - 3.

On the writing section, I tried to write a good essay with a lot of supporting facts, so I hope I score in the 660 - 750 range, or even better, 770! with a 12 on my essay.

So, when I look in the SAT BLUE BOOK, which is a great book, hints to college board administrators who are reading this thread right now AWESOME BOOK!

I predict my scores are between:

Verbal: 720 - 800
Math: 620 - 680
Writing:
Essay - 12 out 12
Multiple Choice - 4 incorrect, and omitted 3 or 4.

So, predicted writing score: 760 - 800.

What do you guys think? Please, I'm not trying to be snobby or anything, that's far from it. I'm being real here. I'm being honest. Please tell me what you think of my predicted scores.

It sounds like I got the same prompt as you, but I'm not sure since they can be very similar. Hmm... It's my first time taking the SAT, so I couldn't tell you what to expect. I think you can expect at least an 8 if you have good grammar/verb agreement etc. Only because I have a friend who I edit essay papers for, & english is her 3rd language, so she's not always sure on verb agreements & sentence structure-but she managed an 8 on the SAT. You also have to keep in mind her reasons & examples were excellent, she just has alot of problems with grammar.

As for me personally, I used the Greek empire, Bill Gates & the Founding Fathers as examples. I ran out of time on my essay & didn't manage my conclusion, but I think my Greek & opening paragraphs were both solid.

For your simple words-It should be okay. I've seen examples of 11 & 12s, & they aren't riddled with complex words... Mostly because of time restraints I suppose. My most "vocab-y" word was probably "tedious". I know I had a few others that I thought were decent, but I honestly can't remember. Don't worry about your words so much, they don't pine over each essay & carefully evaluate it. Not enough time for that! ;)

Your writing score will be more around 740 or less, they're not very lenient with it....

the other 2 sound about right...

for my essay I'm expecting a 10-11 because I only filled a page and a half, but my supporting evidence came from history and literature and the whole text was on topic. I also used the quote provided in the prompt in my introduction and a personal opinion.

and I doubt I had any spelling errors or things of the like.

didn't leave any without answering for writing, and probably missed 3 or so, so I'm hoping for a 740 or 750 :)

For the January test, I got a 10/12 for my essay even thought I felt it wasn't good... I thought this May essay was better... so hopefully I'll get a 11 or 12 although I'll be happy with a 10.

I'm hoping for 8+....since I didnt finish my essay T_______T I was on my last sentence.

"I'm hoping for 8+....since I didnt finish my essay T_______T I was on my last sentence."

damn that last sentence must have been the true meaning of life because normally missing 1 sentence won't make a difference between an 8 and a 12 :P

I am sure I got a 12 on the essay and didn't get any wrong on any of the multiple choice (math and critical reading included). Here comes the 2400!

Yeah right! Only in my dreams :(

Wait I had the individual giving up his agenda for the community essay. I wrote a very persuasive essay regarding the sacrifices that our countrie's armed servicemen make to ensure that we are able to enjoy the rights and freedoms that we enjoy.

I talked about how they put thier lives on hold, gave personal esperiences, yada yada. I filled up the entire two pages using analogies and quite a few big words. Do you think that I answered the question correctly and what do you think a possible score may be? I know it is very difficult to tell the last part without reading my essay, but I would be very appreciative of any information.

I thought the essay topic was really easy (the community one), and it went well. I'll be REALLY surprised if i dont get 10+. As for the multiple choice, I know i got a few wrong so I hope I'm still in the 700's

I think I got a 10. Maybe a 9. I don't really know. For multiple choice, I sure hope I'm in the 700s.

i um just hopping, i could have got a 3 however.? please?
