Is it better to take a variety of AP classes in different subject areas (e.g. English, Math, Science) OR is it more preferable to take AP classes in a more specified subject area? Should I be focusing on APs relevant to the college major I want to pursue? Will NOT taking a variety of AP classes in high school affect my college credits? Thanks :)

For most students the “best” senior year schedule is one that has the expected mix of science, math, English, social studies (including history) and a foreign language. If you can, and especially if you’re applying to very selective colleges take the AP version of courses in each of these areas. Within each area, and again depending on where you’re applying, select the most challenging subject.

Thanks, fogcity! I almost forgot that I actually created this post; however, since then, I have enrolled in an english and science AP class for next year, along with some other non-AP, yet challenging classes. I expect that it’s going to be a busy year!
