Prelims are seriously killing me

It's not that uncommon to have a couple tests the week before fall break.

But after fall break? The day after fall break, in fact? At 9-freaking-am? What kind of sadist does that?!

My daughter's HS encouraged team work. A group would get one grade for their homework.

It's not that. I can work in groups, but if a group signed up for a project every member of the group has to participate at every step of the project. You can't "split up" stuff.

You can't have everyone participate at every step of the project. In real life, when there is a project you wouldn't have everyone do the same thing. You would divide up your work and expect everyone to do their part. That's what my daughter's HS physics teacher expected them to do. Everyone in the group would work on a few problem, but they would all come together at the end to go over everyone's work. At the end of the day, everyone in the group better know how to do all of those problems or they would fail their next test.

thanks for the suggestions and support. :)
Yeah, everyone is in the same boat, but...that doesn't keep my brain from hurting.

seriously, if any one have access to lots and lots of past physics 207 prelims, i'd pay money for them, same for biochem, genetics, animal physi etc

lol Are you taking those classes together? That's just begging for trouble.

i feel like the same for chem 209.

the average for 191 ended up being a 57.

my friends just got 100 and 96 on their 192 prelims without much studying..

I got a 44 and 55 on Linear Algebra and Orgo respectively, both Fs (after the curve, because there was none).
That's what I get for not studying. At least a B+ was in order for my first paper.

Wait wait wait... Orgo doesn't curve?!
As a history major I don't know too much about how science classes work... do they only calculate the curve at the end or something?

CB, your friend is reaally lucky... heh.

It had no need to...the median was already an 86. (This is for 359, not 357.)

Are you a chem major or an insane person? There's really no need to take Chem 359 otherwise. Don't let the high median grade fool you...

omg I'm going crazy over OB. I never thought I would get so stressed over it but it's so muchhhhh ahhhhhhhhhHHHH! K back to studying ugh

gl everyone!

has anyone gotten an A in the class after failing the first prelim. i need some happy stories after this week. wow we are definently scaring away applicants this year.

lol just so everyone knows hr and ob turned out not to be that hard :)

lol ILRies at least u don't have to be scared :) (altho it definitely took a lot of studying)

Nah, we're not scaring them away.... but we do need to have a little bit of complaining every now and then ;)
I think that it will get easier..as in, it will get easier to study for once we get an idea of what they look for in prelims...maybe?

yup i think so....i mean to be honest i screwed OB...cause iwas stressign about somethign else and totally left out some easy stuff...
but oh wells...there is always next time..and i hope i won't be that stupid to fall in the same trap again!!!!
so i think there is always the finals to make up for it right?
