Premed at Columbia

Hello~ first post here. I read through most of the Columbia posts; however, there didn't seem to be a post designated for prospective premed students at Columbia. No need to reiterate what the Medical School boards have stated before--I think I have a pretty good grasp on what I need to do in order to apply for med school.

I'm curious about Columbia's premed advising, how many premed students there are, how many friends/students YOU THINK (opinions, as opposed to just reading stats off a site) get into med school, and how helpful the advising, facilities, and opportunities for internships or research were overall, etc.

Thanks in advance!

Pretty much everyone I know from Columbia (or knew from Columbia but hear about through the people I still talk to) who was interested in going to med school got into med school eventually. There were people who got into the top med schools right away. But I know some people who didn't get in right after college, or who didn't apply and chose to take time off to do things to help their application. But I think all these people ended up getting in after a year or two.
