Premed at Northeastern or Boston University or Boston College

Hey peeps!! which is a better choice:

premed at Northeastern University, BU, or BC?

I’d imagine taking advantage if Northeastern’s coop program would give you an edge in med school admissions.

1° Did you get into all three ?
2° Looking strictly at net costs, how much does each cost if you do (tuition+fees+room+board) - (scholarships + grants)?

What is most affordable (given the cost of med school down the road)?
What is your personal preference (people often do best in a place where they are happiest)?

I would definitely eliminate BU, unless they offer a financial incentive that overpowers the other two. However, as of the information you provided, I think that Boston College and Northeastern should be where you look towards. Both premed programs are pretty equal, as are their locations and their overall rankings. It all comes down to whether you want to be in the city or whether you want to be in the “country.”

– Actually, I think it comes down to whether you want a traditional college experience (BC) a somewhat traditional college experience (BU-no campus) or a less-than-traditional college experience (NEU-coops play a big role in the school’s culture.)

Go to Northeastern only if you’re excited by co-ops, because that’s what the school revolves around. Not campus life or sports.

BU has its own Med School and Hospital and does more research in the life sciences.
