Premed Harvard, Stanford, or Yale

I was wondering if anyone had any insight on harvard premed and how that compares to stanford and yale. And hopefully some statistics to back up their preference as well.

i got into these schools and don't know what to pick.

thanks guys!

I can’t offer relevant help, but I just wanted to congratulate you on your achievement of being selected to all three of those colleges.

Pick the one that you like the best. It won’t matter one bit.

I am a Yale fan. Yale’s med school placement is phenomenal. My brother went there as an undergrad and he said all of his friends got into their first choice (a few went to second choice) for med school. Also, Yale is probably the most fun and intimate. Plus, doing research at Yale will probably be the easiest, since undergrads get the most attention, which could boost your med school chances drastically.

PS: I am not going to either Yale or Harvard or Stanford next year… I have already sent my deposit for my school next year, so this is not really bias. And I do have cousins that go to Harvard. No one I know goes to stanford (yet)

If you go to Harvard and you can’t get research work at one of the hospitals associated with Harvard Medical School, you’re a moron and have no business even being in an ivy league school. Anybody can get research work.

Yale hands down. You will love their residential college system. They also a much more undergrad focus than Harvard does.

"They also a much more undergrad focus than Harvard does. "

Can people please, PLEASE stop saying things like this? In addition to being a tired and extremely old stereotype, it’s complete nonsense.

To the OP, I think a good way to figure out what to do in your situation is to contact pre-med students at each school and ask them about their experiences. Here’s the contact information for students in the Harvard Premedical Society: [Harvard Premedical Society](http://www.hcs.harvard.edu/~premed/contact.html)

I’m sure Yale and Stanford have similar groups that could be found with a simple Google search. Once you get feedback from people who’ve actually experienced what you’re planning to study - and not from uninformed people on the internet who’ve never attended any of the schools - you’ll be much better equipped to choose. Personally, I don’t think you can go wrong as a pre-med no matter which you choose, so apart from academic concerns be sure to consider broader things about each school in making your decision.

If you have questions about Harvard in general, I’m happy to answer. (I graduated last spring.) Good luck with your decision!
