Hey everyone,

I am from Canada and am interested in going to a US college. I still have some time left in high school before I apply (2 years), but I want to know what schools would suit me... I've been reading up on colleges for a while and talked to lots of people (college profs, parents).

Stats: 2 B+'s in high school freshman year while in USA-major family problems, then we moved to Canada where I got solid As and stuff settled. I got a B+ in Algebra 2 Honors because of an extremely b*****y teacher who refused to round up a 89.78-mom fell ill, etc. French 2 Honors-not best subject, issues threw me off track a bit.

I'm taking AP Calc with AP Physics and AP Chem my sophomore year, though but I'm afraid that colleges will look down on my math skills, especially since I'll apply for STEM.

Standardized tests ought to be decent-I've done practice tests and have scored pretty highly.

Will take PSAT this fall to gauge where I stand...canada has no NMSF, unfortunately.

From a western province- Alberta.

Internship in lab starting freshman summer of HS, will begin working on independent research project soon..will participate in other competitions.

Won award from ACS, state awards in FBLA and regional in MUN/Science Olympiad. Will do other competitions, etc.

None of this is known yet, but lets assume I'm a stem kid with an interest in humanities.

I know that Canadian schools are definitely good and are great options, but I'm looking at US schools in this thread.

I like beautiful campuses, intellectuals-nerdy types, not artsy kids, I'm not too into urban environments unless the campus has lots of green space, lots of research opportunities, and no grade deflation.

I'm very liberal and I love humanities also.

Thanks in advance! I am just starting my college search and this site has helped tons already!

Edit: Oh, and price is no issue-my parents will pay for me to go to the best possible school I can get into.
