In September I will be entering my senior year of high school. I'm in the IB program, where I will estimate I will finish with a score of 40/45. I have written my SATs once, where I scored just below 2000. I am planning on writing them again in October, as well as my subject tests. Currently, I am employed at a doctor's office as well as completing an internship at a downtown Toronto criminal law firm. I am the President of the Model United Nations club at my school, cast member of the school play, golf team member, and I've conducted numerous presentations on sponsoring a teacher in Afghanistan, and over the course of about a month we raised enough money to sponsor two teachers. With that said, does anyone have any advice on which US Schools to apply to? I know this question is vague, but I'm just completely uninformed about the quality of schools in the US. Thanks for everything!

i am a canadian junior IB student so i was clueless too before .. just read some threads and you will become familiar.. my advice is .. if you can get into top 25 univ. in the states then go to the states. Otherwise stay in Canada as we have some good univ. like univ of toronto and Mcgill UBC.. blah blah.. so yea what are you majoring in which is important. You need a SAT score of higher than 2100 to be competitive at top 15-25 schools.. 2200+ for the Ivies and stuff. Its hard to suggest a school without knowing what you are interested in though.

Well what are you interested in studying?

That's the thing, I'm really undecided. Political science is probably my first choice, or possibly economics. I find in Canada we're at somewhat at a disadvantage when it comes to the SATs, because US students actually have courses within schools for SAT prep. Oh well, I guess I'm just going to have to do all the prep on my own.
