PreMed....

Hey guys, I know this question gets asked a lot but should I remain premed? Grades came out and I got Bs for both Calculus and Chemistry. In both classes I never really reviewed unless there was a test comming up which I know wasn't smart. I just spent more time on my other classes because theu required a lot of homework. I know I can do better but how do I make more time for the 'harder' classes? Any advice? I was doing so well at the beginng ugh.

If you’re passionate about becoming a doctor, I would highly suggest toughing it out until at least the end of this first year and then reevaluating your position. One of my sophomore friends got a C+ her first quarter of gen chem, and I just found out that she got a solid A in orgo this quarter, along with an A in every other class. There is always room for improvement, and if you were accepted to NU, you can absolutely succeed once you work out your time management issues.

Remember that the path to medical school is a marathon - one stumble does not hurt you. It’s your AVERAGE that gets you in the door at medical schools.

If you think your schedule is too heavy, you can always look at cutting back and spreading out the workload.

I got into medical school with a C and two W’s! Even with that my average was good. There is always time to correct course.
