how common is it to have pre meds in the faculty of arts?

there is no such thing. pre med is an undergraduate program in the faculty of medicine and is offered to quebec students who have sat the CEGEP high school system.

yes, i know...i actually meant people on the track to med school...i figured most of them will be in science, but i just wanted to know if it's also common to have them in arts

well i know a few people at the med school at mcgill and according to them there are a few people from arts and engineering as well. I think obviously the majority is in the sciences as they usually have an advantage in the science aspect of it, but that should not be a set back to anyone in arts as the MCAT exam that all prospective students have to sit is a mix of advanced science questions from first year science courses which arts students can take as electives and a writing section which I guess arts students may have the advantage.

In the end anyone from any faculty can make it to the faculty of med if you have the right GPA standing, good balance of extracurriculars and work experience in preferably a clinical/research setting, high MCAT score and smooth interview. I've even heard that occassionaly someone from the faculty of music gets in. However competition is hard and if your admission to McGIll's med school is biased towards quebec natives and international students who get the preference. I think there is about 7-12 seats for canadian students out of province.

wow, thanks, that answered my question exactly.
