prep for leaving soon!

oh i forgot - while i was touring hotchkiss in jan, someone told me that if i have a doctor's notice, i can get a fridge. is that true? just curiosity.

Well, I was reassuring getmeintogroton of several worries that SHE (I learned my lesson) had, such as fitting in and time management...

oh, its alright. i was just getting this thread back on track. hey look, i'm once again slightly addicted to this forum! for the last few weeks i had really been drifting away from CC. now its me rambling and getting off topic. so, anyone have any other advice?

Yes IluvA's, most schools will let you have your own fridge for medical reasons. Most will also let you have a fridge for religious reasons as well. Both require several notes to obtain.
Anyways, the first couple days are usually orientation, but when you get settled into your room, I would wander around your dorm introducing yourself. They are going to be in the same situation you are. Keep your door open since more people will wander into an open room for a quick chat than knocking on a closed door.
With regard to packing, at first just pack the things you wear the most. Don't pack a shirt that you only wear a couple times a year. It will just take up room in your closet. You can always have your parents mail additional things that you need to you if you need them.
