Well, it seems some of the summer crowd has disappeared. So they are off to their respective boarding schools and we will have a new batch of prospective prep school students. This site should become very active soon.

Just finished the 1000 mile drive back home after leaving my D at her new school.

My DW and I spent 4 days in the area and got to spend a lot of time meeting various faculty/staff/coaches/students/etc. Also spent a lot of time just sitting around and taking in the early arrival activities.

I think she will be happy where she is.

We're going to miss her, though.

which school is she going to?

My wife left for Mass on the 6th to take my d back to school. My wife gets back home tomorrow. This is our 3rd time dropping her off and it doesn't get any easier.

Sitting home for the trip can't be easy. Of course the long ride home alone won't be easy for your wife either.

I agree it does not get any easier! college is hard too.

Hi everyone! I'm at Groton and I love it! Thanks for everything.

Hey... tell us more about it! :)

I spoke to my d this morning and she reports she has a boat load of homework. She does not have a full class day till tomarrow. I asked how she came to have homework if classes have not started? Actually her classes met yesterday for twenty minutes each. I guess part of this was to get them started on their work.

My d had mini-classes on Friday and was given homework for the weekend as well. I didn't ask how much though.

However, her class spent Saturday on a class outing climbing a mountain as a team builder.

goliedad, where is your d attending? PM if you like. It sounds like your d has a couple of great things going for her with regard to college. I wish her all the success and happiness in her upcoming school year.
