Hi
I am an 8th grader who is looking to attend boarding schools such as Exeter, Andover, Choate, Hotchkiss, Deerfield, etc.
I am wondering what do the interviewers ask during the interviews? I would truly appreciate it if you could give me any tips/experiences with prep-school interviews.
Thank you.

If you go to the “search this forum” button in the prep school forum and plug in “interview” you’ll find a bunch of helpful threads on this topic.
The short answer is that the interview is a chance for the school to get to know you and for you to get your questions answered. There are no “gotcha” question. The interviewer is likely to ask questions like what you like to do in your off time, what your favorite and least favorite classes are and what you like to read. There are no right or wrong answers but it’s a good idea to think about how you want to present yourself in advance so you can put your best foot forward. One of the pieces of advice I gave my kids was to think of the two or three things they wanted to make sure the interviewer came away from the interview knowing about them and make sure to work them into the conversation.

Hi wintergirl,
If you have any specific questions I have recently interviewed before at some schools you have listed up there so feel free to shoot me a PM. Also I have written a thread called: how to interview (and do it right!) if you want to check that out I wrote a few tips in there.

Alright!
I just saw your post!
I found the tips VERY helpful
Thank you!
