Another pricey NYC metro day school in administrative transition . Hope it works out for the students and parents.
Who didn’t see that coming?
One more Dwight - Englewood School news piece. Wonder if there will be more expedited Head of School transitions ? The list ( particularly NYC metro day schools ) seems to be lengthening .
More inspiring news from the Milton student!
Avon calling……(I guess you had to be alive in the ‘60’s to get it)
Sad news from Fairfield Prep….
Devastating …
Does this count as a job on college applications?
Update…teen from St Joseph’s high in Milford is arrested for the stabbing death of Fairfield Prep boy. Sad.

What is a “Real-to-Life Novel”? Sounds like jumbo shrimp.
Based on the New Haven Register review, the author “added” a campus character (a security guard I think) otherwise supposedly it’s based on extensive research
Interesting choice. So if it does well, it will show up on the “fiction” side of the NYT best seller lists?
News from the greater Phoenix area….Brophy Prep? Yep - know one of the families who received the letter.
From the letter . . .
The students found to have propagated this system will be held to significant account in the coming days. For the remainder of students, we turn to you as the primary educators of your sons. We encourage you to have a serious conversation with him about this situation, assess whether or not he participated, and engage in follow-up that you deem appropriate.
Leaving the “follow up” to parents seems like a complete copout by the school.
Presumably most of the offenders are seniors, which means they all took (and passed) the required junior course:
CHRISTIAN ETHICS AND MORALITY REQUIRED-ONE SEMESTER
The purpose of this junior course is to help students see God’s work in creation, especially the life of Jesus Christ, as the standard for moral and ethical action in human life. The course will explore modern ethical issues, outline moral concepts, and articulate how the Church comes to hold particular ethical/moral precepts as truth so that each student is able to apply these teachings to their current and future decision-making.
“Ryan said that the students who facilitated the system will be held accountable for their actions, but due to graduation, it makes it impossible for the school to ensure all students are held accountable in a way that is fair, equitable, and consistent.”
Hunh?
For those graduating seniors planning on going to college next year, I would think informing colleges of their transgression would be fair. They could consistently note the transgression everyone’s records.
But, because this is the sort of thing that can be a reason for a college to rescind an acceptance, perhaps the school doesn’t want to take that hit to its matriculation stats.
We missed this interesting story a couple of months ago….The famed British Board School, Harrow (oh I love their hats), is forced to drop its British name in Beijing…… the link still worked, even if it asks you if you’re a bot. I am not a bot, I am an Anglophile!
“To complete online homework and tests”
What school is delusional enough to think that people would be academically honest in online assessments???
From the 2021 Andover SOTA (http://pdf.phillipian.net/2021/06202021.pdf):
52.1 percent answered “More frequently” to “Has online school influenced the frequency in which you commit academic dishonesty?”—and that’s at a school known for being chock-full of overachievers…
Overachievers and dishonesty, sadly, are not mutually exclusive.
