So the new name of the school is Lide. Does that rhyme with leed, or lied?

Neither. it’s two syllables.

Concerning student expose of the approximate $60,000 NYC day school. Appears that no independent thinking and dialogue is permitted there, like most NYC day schools. Until these NYC day schools run out of parents willing to pay their extraordinary tuition tab , not much will change. Maybe some private equity / banking layoffs will change the NYC environment in the coming years ?

I am not even a hockey person, but some prep school representation in the recent NHL draft, including St. Mark’s, Nobles, St. Sebs, Belmont Hill, and Milton.

Yet Another NYC Expensive Day School Leadership Stumbles…not again . Will these NYC schools ever learn before they run out of rich parents ? Guess there will be more boarding school applications from NYC this admission round and in the coming years ?

Tragic

Here is an interesting idea : :face_with_monocle:

A school with an enrollment of 68 (Search for Private Schools - School Detail for BUXTON SCHOOL) in rural Massachusetts is going to have a very different experience from the 500+ student suburban boarding schools commonly cited here; heck, the dorm I’ll be affiliated with next year will have more people in it.

Well, it’s offering something that you can’t get at those other schools.

I read a little more into the school on its website, and I think that everything about it—even aside from the phone policy—makes it very different from the “traditional” boarding schools typically discussed here. You need to be a very specific type of student who enjoys a very specific educational philosophy to enjoy going there, even moreso than the already-niche demographic that BS typically appeals to.
