preparation for Quantitative Finance degree

Hey, everybody. I am about to enter undergraduate programs and wish to obtain a Quantitative Finance(or something similar) master/PhD later. I will take a lot of Mathematics, Computer Programming and Physics courses at undergraduate level. However, to prepare for my graduate degree, should I take many Economics courses as well? How should I best prepare myself for graduate life while studying at undergraduate level?

Yes, you should at least take intro micro and macroeconomics, intermediate micro, and possibly econometrics.

Econometrics is a must. An intro course isn't going to cut it, either. You'll want at least 2 econometrics courses under your belt. And you won't have a clue what's going on in econometrics unless you've already taken 2 stats courses (or 1 very advanced one).

Micro and macro are somewhat less important for you, but definitely good to know if you've got the time to take them. Those courses will help you get an understanding of the big picture, but ultimately it's the metrics and math that wiill be the tools you use to do what's required of you in your graduate program.
