Is Skidmore really preppy? Looks like a good academic fit for my son, but he is more comfortable with working class kids than the upper middle class ones at his high school. He enjoys outdoorsy activities and intellectual ones, plays sports but isn't a jock. Any advice about how a kid without a lot of money would do socially would be appreciated.

My son is a sophomore there this year, is a product of two teachers from a poor rural district and couldn’t be happier! We just returned from seeing him and he has never been happier or more self confident in his life. His friends are great, as are his classes. While some of his friends come from money, many do not. You would not know which ones are rich and which ones are poor. They all get along. I really can’t say enough about Skidmore.
