President Obama to deliver U-M spring 2010 commencement address

GO BLUE!

Love to see the anointed one talk about “corpse man” in the navy and the fifty seven states he visited :)

btw econ majors should ask him about this chart http://www.countrykeepers.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/091002Unemployment.gif

Oh. One more reason to consider paying my enrollment deposit already.

Well that would be something to look forward to hearing from the President.

I am so disappointed that I am in 2011 instead of 2010. Dammit.

w00t OBAMA!!

It is always an honor to have a man as accomplished as President Obama give the commencement speech. Then again, we had Larry Page recently too, and his speech and also very touching. Generally speaking, graduation speakers at Michigan do a great job.

this thread has the potential to get ugly lol

Dang I really want to go to this…

This will be free, right? We just have to reserve our spots? Will it be open to anyone?

I hope I don’t miss it when ticket information comes out. I was figuring I’d go with a friend in 2010’s mom if I could, are these sorts of events just open? That would seem strange to me.

This is a very encouraging sign for University of Michigan and for the state of Michigan. Michigan has the highest unemployment rate in the country, Obama aims to double US exports over the next five years. If he really wants to accomplish that, he should start with Michigan which is he main engine of the manufacturing base in the US.

It will be very interesting to see Obama talk about how University of Michigan can be a leader by providing research projects and technology to the manufacturing corporations in Michigan.

It will be free, but tickets will go first to graduates and their guests. Doubt there will be any left over after that. Prepare to see the tickets sold on ebay.

Skeet skeet seket

While I strongly disagree with some of Obama’s “agenda” I think its a great honor to have the him speak at the University.

Tickets will go ONLY to UM students and the family they invite. Why would anybody possibly think they deserve to be there otherwise?

class of 2010 is so lucky…i wonder who 2011 is gonna get?

I would have wanted Bruce Wasserstein if he didn’t pass away. True Genius

Bruce Wasserstein was indeed a genius. There are so many alums who would be great. Michigan commencement speakers are almost always well selected, even if they aren’t heavy hitters like Obama or Page.
