President's Scholarship

Thirty more minutes until we get results. Good luck to all the semi-finalists!

Still no update…lol not really surprised the last email came 10 minutes late for the semis…

aw, didn’t get it :(

Earlier today, we named the finalists for the Georgia Tech President’s Scholarship. Like most scholarships at this level, there was enormous competition for a very limited number of spots. Given the many qualified applications we received, we will be unable to offer you a President’s Scholarship at this time.

However, we anticipate there being additional President’s Scholarships available during the next few weeks. Although, we cannot guarantee you will receive a scholarship, we would like you to consider accepting a spot should one become available.

We realize this causes challenges as you no doubt have other offers you are considering. Knowing this, we intend to have our offers finalized by March 5, 2012, and will email you our final decision at 5:00 p.m. that day.

I realize this is a rejection, but what do they mean about “additional” scholarships? Are those the scholarships from people who will decline admissions?

Sigh :frowning: I wish I knew exactly what that meant.

I’d assume it means you are ‘wait listed’. there is some information on prior year threads here. congrats and good luck on that. we did not make it. congrats to all PS!

Our son didn’t make it either… oh well, everything is part of his learning to live in the real world. We are still very proud of him for being a semifinalist. Now we need to wait for the admissions results at CalTech to make a final decision

We came up short as well. Hopefully, this isn’t the end of the road for scholarship consideration. Really need help with the OOS as GT still remains #1 choice.

Congrats to the finalists.

DS made it to Presedential Scholars…We are very happy! Any input on what to expect next will be really appriciated. We are OOS. He is accepted to BME.

Congrats to all other finalists
