I'm planning on applying to law school after undergrad, and I'm torn whether to attend a college that I would get a very high GPA and be at the top of my school (right now that would mean schools like Gettysburg or Skidmore) or go to a school I would narrowly be accepted to and have to work to stay in the middle of my class (Colgate, Haverford, Brandeis, etc.). Should I go to an easier school or go to a more difficult school for the higher quality education and risk a lower GPA?

Law school admissions is heavily numbers-based. Your GPA and your LSAT score will matter much, much more than the name on your diploma.

I hate to be the scold trying to throw cold water in your face, but how can you be already skipping over 4 years of your life for some distant unreality of your next, next school? Pick the college that best fits your own preferences, strengths, and interests, and try to learn and grow for the next 4 years. Law School might be the last thing on your mind after opening your mind and horizons during the next few years. Good luck!
