<p>I have heard of the Intel Science Talent Search competition, but I'm sure there are others out there as well. Is the Westinghouse competition a separate one or is it just another name for Intel STS ? What other respectable science research competitions are there besides Intel?</p>

<p>siemens-westinghouse is different. those two are the main ones. if you can place in your region, you have a good chance at any school you want.</p>

<p>but are there lesser ones as well? I want to submit to multiple competitions at once.</p>

<p>Well, there are always local ones that you could enter. Also, you could go for state science competitions, etc. But intel and westinghouse require a lot of work, so if you want to go for it, be prepared to spend a lot of time on it.</p>

<p>ISEF is a lot of luck, personality, and "commercial adverstisement" skills.</p>
