Pretty Basic Question Here...

Do I have to come up with a question if I write on a topic of my choice for the common app? I am writing an essay about how I fail at something and then elaborating on how my intellectual perseverance. That seems silly but it is nowhere near as pompous as it seems, I promise. I'll post it eventually for your judgement, CC community. :)

But for now, I have an idea of what I would like to write, but no prompt...Is that ok? When it comes time, can I just give it a title and send it in?

I hope so...:)

Thanks!

I heard the Common Application is using the same as last year

Yeah, but I do not really like their topics in particular. I suppose it could apply to the one about a specific event or situation, since I start by describing my own failure when trying to build a sand castle, but I am not sure. I will use that if necessary, but if this essay turns out to suck, and I write something else, will I need to come up with a prompt and write it at the top of my essay for them?
Thanks
