Question, is it possible to send in the immunization form at the preview. Also is it required to take the Preview Prep prior to going to Preview. I apperciate it.

"By send in the immunization form"- do you mean just bring it with you and present once youre there?

That works, I did it last year. They'll just have a line there when you first check in and they'll input all your info in a few minutes.

For those that want a little more information about preview, here is the layout and some advice:

You begin early on day one and from the onset you are split up into different small groups that range from about 10-20 I suppose. There were a total of 250 students at my preview they said it was one of the smaller groups. There are several information sessions that you bounce around to and by the end of the first night you are just about ready to pass out. Probably the worst part is the fact that most of the information is not only basic, but it is regurgitated by one speaker after another. If you have done any research on your own, you will know 98% of the things said.

At night you can either do some sports at the Broward recreational complex, chill around the campus, or even go to a very lackluster dance in the Broward basement. You will only be able to partake in the activities if you have gotten your predicted schedule checked off by your group's preview staffer. The next morning's breakfast is optional and you will either pick classes in the morning or afternoon depending on a random selection process done before you arrive. In my case, I picked classes at 10 am after a very useless advising appointment with my groups faculty adviser. I went in to the room worried I wouldn't be able to get any of the classes I wanted and walked out 7 or 8 minutes later after getting every class I wanted with ideal time slots included. Without a doubt, this was thanks to all of the preparation I had done weeks before I checked in to preview.

You will take the picture for your gator 1 ID soon after. Then, you'll have a ridiculous amount of time to do whatever you want in the bookstore area before you have to go to some more useless information sessions on things like off campus housing ordinances. At the very end you receive a confirmation page with your schedule. After it was all over I had a nice 6 hour drive back to Miami with basic info running through my head.

As for the advice, start looking at your predicted major and its prereqs. If you are able to develop a feel for the system, try creating a schedule for yourself by using the schedule of courses online coupled with ratemyprofessor. You will save yourself a lot of time and anxiety, not to mention you will protect yourself from getting stuck with classes that will ruin your semester. Be outgoing and try to make friends. Most of all, just be patient. I really can't stress the importance of familiarizing yourself with the schedule of courses and ISIS BEFORE you arrive.

I'd be happy to answer any questions about the process. Good luck to everyone that has yet to endure this "tradition"

My schedule is as follows...

Summer B:
Microeconomics
Plants Plagues and People

Fall:
Macroeconomics
Intro to Statistics
Problem solving with Computers
Man's Food
Wildlife issues

I'm an Economics major BTW

Are all of the Preview faculty advisers useless? Can you choose which one you want? My sister had one she liked last year. Her Preview adviser wound up being her major adviser as well.

They're useless if you have done even a small amount of research on your own.

No, you cannot choose which one you want.

Sobe, thanks, and you were spot on. Here is how my schedule turned out:

Summer B:
-Principles of Macroeconomics ( HELL YES, GOT A LIVE SECTION!!!)
-European Experience (Professor Kostoupolos seems like he's the BOMB!)
-Warrington Welcome!

Fall:
-Principles of Microeconomics (Gonna ask Prof. Rush if I can sit in on the live lecture although I signed up for the web class, no more seats available in live lecture).
-Discover the Univerise (Professor Telesco..if you add a pe, it's Telescope!)
-Social Geography (need a diversity credit)
-Exploring Geological Science (Physical science credit, need that too)
-Problem Solving Using Computer Applications (Finance major..)

"Gonna ask Prof. Rush if I can sit in on the live lecture although I signed up for the web class, no more seats available in live lecture"

If the live section is "full" and you're not signed up for it, I'm under the impression that listening the the lecture is first come, first served until the auditorium is full. Those who don't fit in the room have to watch it online (whether they're registered for an online section or a live section).

You don't have to be signed up for the live section to sit in the lecture after the first week. Don't bother Dr. rush with that.

I'm a computer science major...what classes should I take over summer B and fall?

I'm going June 18-19th.

I'm excited but REALLY scared about picking classes.
