Previous University record needed or not??

Hello, I am one of the applicants for 2016 Fall UC transfer. The thing is that I recently have met a UCLA representative to talk about my major. While talking, she wondered about my academic gap that’s in between when I graduated high school and when I got to the U.S. I actually hesitated to say Univ. since I was enrolled only one semester and did not attend because I had to prepare for coming to the U.S., but I told her yes I did. And she asked me where. So I was planning not to mention the Univ. and explain something else I’ve done. But my question is… do you think the UCLA rep. would remember me and do something bad to me later on? I am really concerned about this…
Thanks in advance!

Answer this simple question: Is lying about it worth getting caught and losing the chance to ever attend UCLA or any other UC?

If you’re concerned about it, don’t lie.

Be sure to list it.

Okay guys, but I am pretty sure I got all grades of F for all the class since I did not show up. Do you think that’s fine as long as I explain why?

“pretty sure” have you not even checked to see what grades you received? Your teacher(s) may have dropped you but then again that isn’t a given. You need to report all coursework regardless so find out what your grades were that semester.

You are required to list every post-secondary institution you’ve ever attended. I was in a similar situation and had some concerns because my record at the 4 year university I attended before going to CC was rather poor, but it didn’t wind up hurting me very much in the end and I still got into some decent schools. It’s better to be honest right off the bat instead of constantly living in fear that you’ll be caught.

Well, you need to report it. If they are Fs, depending on how long ago, the UCs do give leeway. Also, being as it’s from another country, they may not even be transferable. Contact the university in question, find out the grades, and see if there is a remedy (often there is).

If you never showed up, you might simply have been dropped. No harm, no foul.

Contact the university.
