@VickiSoCal True, but the HMC core requirements (including for biology) include Calc, Multivariable Calc, calc-based Probability and Statistics, Linear Alg, and Differential Equations. And, that is all taken within 3 semesters.
And, as UCB mentioned, some parts of biology are very quantitative.
