Today is August 1, 2010. The Common Application is up online for students who are going to apply to college/university this upcoming academic year, 2010-2011.
Now, most CommonApp members have mentioned (either through their websites or through Q&A sessions) that their supplement material and other forms would be released on the same date the Common App would come out.

However, Princeton has no information on such an issue. The website (forgive me if it is actually there and I did not see it) does not mention much about the 2010-2011 academic year. The supplement form uploaded on the website is last year's, 2009-2010.

I would want to work on my supplemental essay as soon as possible. This means getting it done before I start school (August 16). I have already written my essay in response to LAST YEAR's prompt, but I do not know if the prompt will change for this year.

Do the essay prompts change every year? Maybe. Maybe not.

I would greatly appreciate if someone disclosed some information regarding this issue.

Thank you for your concern and attention. May you have a wonderful day.

The supplement from last year was the same as the one from the year before that. That doesn’t necessarily mean that they won’t change it for this year though.

I personally want to address a prompt that Princeton has given because I think it shows that I have the intelligence to take something random and apply it back to my own life. Someone may have an amazing essay on the side that applies to none of the prompts. It’s everyone’s choice. But I understand what you’re saying newest newb, why wait around the computer for the supplement to open if you have a good essay that hasn’t been used in the common app?

i think the essays the jumpstart from a quote change yearly but they almost always have the write someone who has affected you topic. or that topic that is kinda similar to the common app essay topic about writing about a person who has greatly impacted you…
personally, i just plan on answering that prompt because i had two pretty strong ideas of what i wanted to write on for my common app and one of them would go along the with the lines of the person prompt
