Anyone ever wonder if the Princeton Admission Officers check through here periodically?

They probably do.

I just joined this forum. I agree this thread is the most civil among the “ivvies”.

Two kids from my school who applied to Harvard with near perfect test scores and pretty good EC’s got deferred, everyone from my area who applied to Vandy got straight up denied (which doesn’t make much sense considering they were all qualified), and only one kid in this area got accepted to Duke. Oh and the top 4 kids in our class all got deferred at MIT. I’m 100% sure it’s because we are an over represented area (North Atlanta suburbs, everyone has excellent test scores, EC’s, etc.) so Princeton really should be about the same. Yay.

I graduate in 5 days and would love to know where I’ll go to college (Monday) rather than waiting until late March…
actually we’ll miss graduation because we have a family trip :(

Given the amount of deferrals and rejections, im wondering if this year is different from previous years, or if I just didn’t know it was always like this.

From what I understand, Harvard was not expected. This year seems to be different from previous years as applications declined at Princeton and a few others but apps saw big increases at a lot of Ivy Leagues which may be contributing to the increase in deferrals/rejections. Harvard is probably the biggest outlier so far, but I know MIT was extremely selective as well. I do agree that the selectiveness of the Ivy’s don’t sink in until you’re deferred or denied haha but still, Princeton might be the best bet out of all the top tier Ivy’s.

I know a few people who made selective schools. One of my lifelong friends got into brown ED and I know a guy from a school near our district that got into Harvard EA (which is very very rare in my region). Good luck to everyone tomorrow

Oh wow its already tomorrow!! (Im actually guilty of having a countdown tab open hehe) regardless of our decisions tomorrow, i loved this supportive thread- thanks, everyone!

I know we’re all pretty anxious right now but I’ve been trying to remind myself of the saying “Let go and let God.” Even if you’re not religious, I think it’s still relevant because it helps to remember that this is out of our hands now. But honestly I’m so grateful for all the information and support that this thread has given me and I know I will feel so proud of the people I know from here who post “accepted” in the results thread! :)

I agree with @yebhip! Everyone has been so helpful and supportive on this thread. You guys are all so accomplished; I know you will excel wherever you go. I personally am ready for my inevitable deferral (hopefully I’m not in the bottom 5% who gets rejected outright EA…sigh).

Good luck to all of you

Best of luck to everyone!

This thread is definitely one of the least cutthroat and most welcoming threads on CC (one of the few where I don’t really think anyone reads it with the side effect of believing that they don’t have a future), and I would be so happy if any one of you got in because everyone here deserves it. Everyone has been so nice about answering any questions that anyone poses and we’re all in this together. So no matter what happens at 3 pm tomorrow, I’m just happy that I chose to apply SCEA to the school where everyone has this super caring mindset towards everything that they do. Good luck to everyone as we begin to approach our final 26 hours as “Princeton 2019 SCEA Hopefuls,” it’s all out of hands now.

I really hope we can all get in so I can meet you personally - or we should have a meet-up no matter the result (seriously tho). It’s been a blast talking to you and sharing all this information. You’re all extremely supportive; honestly, I feel that the wait would’ve been torturous if I didn’t see your posts everyday. (Yeah so this is getting mushy-gushy) I agree with everyone above^^^^^, and good luck to all of us!!!

Thanks to everyone for putting up with me and best of luck to all you awesome, deserving people! No matter what happens in 25 hours I’m glad I interacted with everyone.

Remember that although college is undoubtedly a big part of our lives, it really isn’t even close to being everything. Find happiness in friends and family, other accomplishing moments, and of course, your own 17-18 years of life so far and the many years to come. It’s been fun you guys. Good luck to everyone tomorrow!

Awh crap I slept through church…hopefully I don’t draw god’s ire tomorrow

im nervous

24 hours!!!

24 more hours
