Princeton admissions contingent upon thesis-writing abilities?

Hi!
So I know that Princeton has all students write a senior thesis before graduating. I read somewhere or heard something (I forget) that when they're going through the admission process, they look at whether or not they think you will be able to complete a senior thesis.

Can anyone confirm or deny? Additionally, how much will it help in the admission process if you done research and have a journal quality paper you can put on your application? Kind of like a premature senior thesis, I guess.

Thanks!

Why would they admit someone who couldn’t graduate?

Princeton has no shortage of applicants who they are sure could graduate.

I would not be surprised if they look for the characteristics necessary to complete a quality senior thesis (dedicated interest, communication skills, curiosity, analytic skills, etc.) but only because those are the characteristics the senior thesis shows the university expects students to have, not in order to complete the senior thesis.
FWIW I didn’t list any “premature senior thesis” stuff on my app and I still got in, and I know others who can say the same.
