I submitted my early application to Princeton today, and when I tried to register for the Application Tracking System (https://admissionapp.princeton.edu/uarcd/register.jsp), it would not let me register. Each time I typed in my information and clicked register, a message would pop up that read "The email address and PIN that you specified do not match the email address and PIN that you provided" even though all my information was correct.

Anyone else having this issue? Does it take a specific amount of time after you submit your application for it to allow you to register?

The system does not track applications in real time; you need to give it a few days, or at least that’s the way it worked two years ago. It should work by Wednesday-Friday of next week.

Smileamile- I got an email yesterday from princeton (2 days after I submitted) confirming that they received my application and I can now register for the tracking system. I’m sure you’re son will get that email too within the next day or so

Now that I can log in to the tracking system I have a new issue-

It says they only received my common app and supplement, but not my sat/act score reports that I reported in September.
Maybe they just haven’t matched my scores to my application yet?

Anyone else having this problem?

*(^^ I wrote you’re instead of your, sorry for the mistake)

Give them time to match the scores to your file. If Princeton is missing anything, they will email you around mid-November, giving you plenty of time to track down the missing elements.

@sammyray, I’m having the same problem, actually - the tracking system says Princeton hasn’t received my SAT I or SAT II reports (sent by Collegeboard in early October). I’m assuming they have a lot to sort through, but it does seem strange it would take nearly a month…

^^ It’s not really strange when you consider that the College Board sends scores to colleges via a database program, which is I’ll wager is not compatible or inter-faceable with the Admissions’ database. Someone in Admissions probably needs to match by hand your scores to your file. Logistically, with thousands of applicants, that’s going to take time – maybe a week, or even two weeks, after a student presses the submit button.

Just a followup- this past friday (nov 2) I got an email from Princeton saying that my application is complete. So in the end, it took a week from the time I submitted my application to when it was complete in Princeton’s system (this could have possibly taken longer than usual because of the storm). If anyone is still having this problem, just wait it out.

Okay. I received an email from Princeton saying my application is complete. Do I even need to figure out the Application Tracking System? I’d like to, but they ask for a PIN. I’m probably being really, really stupid, but where is this PIN located on the Common App? I’ve been unable to find it. Any help is appreciated!

Hey you guys I received an email that my application is complete and then another email later saying that they have received my application and I can begin tracking it. The only problem is when I enter my PIN and email to register for tracking it says that the PIN and email are not the ones I provided them in the common app, but they are. Has anyone else had this problem?
@nandroida I’m having the same problem. Just give it a few days. The e-mail and pin from the Common App might not have been processed by their system yet.
Is the PIN we’re suppose to provide for the tracking system the Common App ID or does Princeton email us a PIN??? I know the email said enter the PIN you entered on the Writing Supplement, but I do not recall entering a PIN.
@Bloop4 Go to your common app, go to my colleges, go to princeton, click on questions under application, and under the general tab the last question says choose a 4-digit pin. That pin is what you need, hope that helps
