That's why i dont like EA. No offence to davidrune, but I think many ppl accepted under EA take up seats somewhere else in the RD round, seats which could've gone to some other highly deserving candidate..... don't want to spark a debate, thats just my opinion...

Firstly, I come from a low-income family. No matter how much I like, Yale, I still have to compare financial aid packages to benefit my family.

Secondly, I'm not taking anybody's sit. If I do get into Princeton and I decide not to go, then somebody will come off the waiting list and will attend the school. I can't very well attend two schools at once.

actually they rarely take people off wait list =D that is why they over accept. wait list is only if even the over accepting didnt accurately round up enough people =D

princeton does have the best financial aid package tho... =D

Financial Aid packages amoung the Ivy League Schools rarely differ by more than $2,000; so unless $2,000 is a major difference for you, IMHO, you are wasting your time. If you are accepted to another ivy that has a better FinAid package, but Yale is still your favorite, you can apparently negotiate your FinAid from Yale.

Looks like Yale lucks out in terms of Financial Aid, though:
Princeton = NO LOANS
Harvard = No contribution expected for families earning less than $40,000.
Yale = ?

e-props for Princeton and no loans. This will make most of our lives so much better come 2009...

And yeah, I've been wondering what Yale brings to the table financially. Princeton and Harvard both have their things, so what does Yale have that appeals to the masses financially?

Haha. I know. I say it all the time. Yes, the Internet is taking over my life. Blast CC and Xanga and LJ and Yahoo! and...and...yeah, the list goes on.

I'm a couple of posts behind, but....
1. I only wrote three of my most significant awards and described them on the actual application. I then attached a page of awards.
2. Gosh, I only wrote 4 sentences for the summer section. I didn't even realize it would be an essay; there was only an inch length of space on the paper app. I should really do it over, but I wrote in the application in pen. Maybe I should do the online application.

Oh, yeah, number: I put in 43 awards, but only about 6 were from out of school. Those are probably the only ones that count, though. Crap, now that I think of it, they'll be probaby just be annoyed with the "fluff."

43 awards! good jesus... i know this thread has died, but i just wnated to comment on my shock at that figure. at my school we don't get awards for anything, nothing at all. you could resuce small children from the burning building and they wouldnt give an award. apparently they feel above it all. sucks for me...
