Son was just advised his public high school was nominating him for this year's Symposium. I know his school sent someone last year as well. Anyone know how many of those nominated (one per school, it seems) actually get an invitation? Does anyone know the process after schools nominate their candidates? Should my son provide his counselor with a resume or contact Princeton or anything? Thank you

I was nominated by my school’s counselor. To be nominated, we had to provide her with a resume and two essays, so she can write my recommendation. After that, we just wait to hear from Princeton. The letter says the symposium will be around September 28th, so I would suspect we would get our letters in the next week or so.

I heard that the program has a pretty high acceptance rate, like 80% or something, but I don’t know for sure, so don’t take my word for it. Good luck!
